Grow Opium

Opium poppy is a beautiful plant that can be used for many purposes, the first two purposes and the most important are: as an ornamental plant (it really adds beauty to your garden or indoors, when you use it as a flower-pot); the second is for medical reasons (since its a very effective somniferous, sleep inducer, and painkiller).

In fact, the most important is this second purpose, but even when medical applications are the most important do not leave the ornament aspect aside.

Before you start to learn how to grow opium, lets begin with some of its history; opium poppy was first cultivated five thousand years before Christ, in Mesopotamia, Persia, Egypt, and Turkey.

When people started to grow opium they knew that opium preferred cool climates and was frost tolerant. Therefore, opium poppy seeds can be planted in middle autumn so the first frosts of winter helps them to germinate by the beginning of spring.

When you grow opium, then you know that once the poppy is about 1 inch tall, the poppy thin seedling accelerates growth. When your opium poppy is a few inches taller then you can transplant it directly to the ground (wherever is good ground, your garden or a flower-pot); the opium poppy is self sufficient and usually do not require watering unless the warm climate begins, I mean during summer season, that is when the climate is too warm and dry. In addition, the opium poppies are quickly populating the surrounding area where they have been planted, and you can add some fertilizer to do best with your opium poppy plant. When the plant is almost ready you can observe the red flowers surrounding the pod.

As a warning, do not over water your opium poppy, you may fall in desperation if you do not see any sign of growing, so, calm down and wait. With good plant cares patience and love you will soon enjoy the pleasure of having an opium poppy. After this you may consider yourself a good grower of opium. Otherwise, if your plant did not grow, then try again, there is no nothing to lose; just gaining some grow opium experience, isn't it?

The opium has also been used for its sedative and analgesic effects, and then when you sow your first opium poppy you can reward yourself with the satisfaction of having a very helpful and beauty plant.

The opium was considered to be the universal cure for all the diseases, because of its numerous applications. So, why not using your own grown opium poppy experience, as a sedative therapy before the high stress caused by daily life turns into a disaster? Relax, take care of you poppies and be happy.
